Recently, the independent journalist, author, and our very own Primafila Correspondent for Japan, Charles T. Whipple, won the Agave prize, an international writing competition sponsored by the city of Oaxaca in Mexico.

About the Author

Charles T. Whipple is a journalist and author who resides in Chiba, Japan. Whipple was born in the state of Arizona, USA, in 1941. He spent his first 18 years in that state and has since lived in Hawaii, Hong Kong, and Japan. Writing professionally since 1976, Whipple is published in many well-known magazines and newspapers. His first novel, a Western set in Arizona, was published in 2005. Since, 18 more are in print. Whipple belongs to the American Association of Journalists and Authors, Western Writers of America, Arizona Authors Association, Western Fictioneers, and Tauranga Writers Inc. Whipple is married with two sons, four daughters, and 19 grandchildren.
